We were all thrilled to hear that the Moody Cow has been selected as one of the top 50 best places for Sunday lunch in the UK.
It all started when Me, Dawn and Tom, who leads his team in the kitchen saved the Moody Cow from closure over six years ago. Just over three years ago Ashley joined us as a kitchen assistant, he was pretty good at washing up and was keen to learn how to cook.
We just love it when one of our team want to learn new skills. We sponsored Ashley to complete his NVQ in professional cookery and Tom spends hours every week teaching Ashley the sort of stuff you just don't get to learn in college.
Two years ago there was an opportunity to lead the team on Sunday, and Ashley was keen to grasp it, we had already built up an enviable reputation for the quality and consistency of our Sunday lunch and we don't take risks at the Moody Cow, many of our guests return again and again, they would instantly know if something had slipped, we also have a culture of continuous improvement, we know we are only as good as the last dish we serve, reputations take years to build up and minutes to destroy.
Ashley was not deterred by the responsibility, he took complete ownership and with continued guidance from Tom and support from Joe and Adrienne one of the best accolades has been awarded to the entire team at the Moody Cow.
Dawn and I are very proud of them all.
